Art, Art Art

Jona, Neve's mum came in to help us design symmetrical butterflies.

She drew the outline then went around it with black PVA. We used calico as the material and that was different to drawing on paper.

We also designed and made bridges . Can you see us testing the strength of our bridges?

During our Space unit we made paper mache planets. It took us several weeks to complete them.

Here are some of our finished butterflies that look bright and colourful !

Scotland and New Zealand

During the Commonwealth games we compared different features of Scotland and New Zealand.

We used Pic Collage to create a display. We compared food, clothes, plants and animals.

Look at our blog next week to see the different displays we actually made!

Boat Building. We are budding designers and boat builders!

At the end of first term we designed a boat and then made it.
It had to have a sail with our initials on it and we tested them to see if they floated. Don't they look fabulous!

Room 3's visit to the Suter Art Gallery

We saw an art exhibition of Uku Rere pottery.

These artworks were sourced from private and public collections throughout New Zealand

Esther taught us how to mold the clay and make people.

We had a lot of parents and adult helpers who came and helped us.

Here are our finished people. Don't they look fabulous!
