Autumn Art

We have talked about the vibrant Autumn colours and used a sponge background with blended crayon for the leaves.

Honey, Beth and Bruno are sharing with the class what they liked about their artwork.

Isla created a swirling background effect with the sponges and blended the crayon colours for the leaves.

Ngahere created a different sponge background leaving white patches which looked like autumn leaves on the background as well.

Junior syndicate "Move It" day

Here we are very excited about the prospect of floating our homemade boats! We have been very busy  working from a design brief.

Mrs.Hall has been teaching us about floating and sinking. We had to predict whether an object would sink or float. Then we did the experiment and found out! 

What an amazing afternoon we had with all the Junior syndicate showing their "Move It" learning. Room 1 children designed and made marble tracks. We designed and made boats and Room 4 children designed and made kites. We floated our boats in the school pool .What fun!

Our Weekly News

Mackenzie showed us a precious photo of one of her family members.

Tye shared his knowledge about divers and astronauts describing the protective clothing they wear.

Ngahere shared interesting facts about a newspaper article.  This man comes from Riwaka and he is racing really fast on a canoe.

Jordan found these amazing skulls! One is of a sheep and the other one is of a goat.  We were able to talk about the differences and the similarities of these skulls.

Teddy Bears' Picnic

Big Buddies

Every Friday straight after lunch we have Big Buddy time. Both the big Buddies and the Little Buddies really look forward to spending time together.Here we have William and Joshua.

Room 3's participation in Riwaka School's mini Triathalon

Here are Keira and Kenzie with their big buddies after a wonderful bike,run and swim.

Leo, Beth, Monika, Honey,Ngahere, Mackenzie ,Alex and Tye all  loved being part of the mini Triathalon too!

Our Artwork about insects.

With the help of one of the Mums we were able to make clay models of an insect. We are really looking forward to having them dry so they can be fired at the local pottery, then we will paint them .
