Boat Building. We are budding designers and boat builders!

At the end of first term we designed a boat and then made it.
It had to have a sail with our initials on it and we tested them to see if they floated. Don't they look fabulous!

Room 3's visit to the Suter Art Gallery

We saw an art exhibition of Uku Rere pottery.

These artworks were sourced from private and public collections throughout New Zealand

Esther taught us how to mold the clay and make people.

We had a lot of parents and adult helpers who came and helped us.

Making Hot Cross Buns in food technology

Mr Young came and demonstrated how to make Hot Cross Buns. 

Some of us helped to mix the ingredients.

We love Maths !

We have been learning to make teen numbers using cuisenaire rods and writing the number story. 

We love using mathletics as it helps us to work out our number facts in our heads.  We enjoy doing mathletics live where we race against other people in our class or even in other parts of the world!

We have successfully matched all the numbers up to 100 on the floor mat. Now we can read them and find them. 

Growing seeds

When we were learning about how plants grew. We each  planted a bean seed in a yoghurt container. We observed what happened as we looked after and watered the seed. Most seeds grew into plants which was fantastic!
