We think learning is Thumbs Up !

What a stunning looking class we have !

Our families came to see the swimming skills that  we had learnt over the summer . We are so lucky to have a beautiful school pool and Michelle who teaches us swimming skills.

In technology we made boats at home and tested them in our school pool to see if they would float. What fun we all had ! Look out for future boat designers and builders!

Learning can be fun as well as helping others!

During the week we were raising money for Volunteer Services Abroad we had a dress up day and what fun we had!
 We raised money for people who are less fortunate than we are. We have lots of resources, homes, food and opportunities to be very thankful for .

As part of our Recycling Topic we made  puppets or masks from paper bags.

Kids can cook !

 Last week Chris Fortune a celebrity chef came to Riwaka School and 

demonstrated cooking French crepes. He grated raw apple and spinach and folded that into the crepes. We all had a taste and most children gave it a thumbs up!

Chris also visited our school vege garden and was very impressed with what he saw. Last week on the day we had school photos our wonderful vege garden Mums made delicious pumpkin soup and many of us had to wipe the orange deposits off our faces before we could have our photo taken .

Autumn leaves are changing colour.

We are learning that some trees have leaves that change colour in the Autumn and they are called deciduous trees. We collected autumn leaves from around the school then used autumn coloured pastels to create a blended effect on our leaves. The trees whose leaves do not change colour are called evergreen trees.
