Our class trip to the Suter Art Gallery plus classroom activities

Here we are just about ready to head into the Suter Art Gallery where will be looking at a pottery exhibition by Paul Winspear and creating our own clay bowl.

Esther Mc Naughton explained to us about Paul's pottery. He lives Golden Bay and creates beautiful pottery that can be used in our homes. The adults who came with us were very impressed just as we were!

Here we are ready to begin our bowls. We are going to also make a clay model of New Zealand and place it in the middle of our bowls.

What a fabulous time we had . we made long snake pieces of clay to form the base of our bowls. We can't wait until Esther fires our pottery bowls and we then can paint them and take them home! A wonderful experience was had by all! Thanks, Suter Art Gallery!

What's been happening in Room 3 during February.

Here we are enjoying the magnificent sunflowers that are growing in our school vegetable garden. We have been looking for bugs, insects and spiders as we are learning all about them.
We are making funny faces on the Junior Playground. We love being in Room 3 making new friends and having fun.
We have been practising getting into the water safely, going under the water and getting our heads wet as well as using flippy floppy feet to make splashes. Some of us can even look under water and collect objects as well as float and glide and breathe out our noses to make bubbles.
During art we are learning to mix colours and make our pictures bold and bright.
When we have choosing time the Mobilo is always a favourite choice. Sometimes Mrs. Hall even says that it needs to be "girls only" Mobilo days!
